Should I rebuild my 74 Amc 360?

Its In a Jeep J10. With just over 26k miles on it. It doesnt idle, but it doesn't have an electric choke, and when i give it lots of gas it floods out and kind of stalls until you let off. ive replaced the coil, put in an electronic ignition and im going to put on dual 3" exhaust with cherry bombs and headman headers. I know that sounds a little big but i talked to a friend of mine whos a very skilled and experienced mechanic and he says itll be alright. most of my troubles are with my carb i think but should i rebuild my engine and keep it stock? replace intake and Lifters? i want this truck to perform without spending to much on it. thanks
