Does Marijuana really have health benefits?

Or is it just to get high. I think that the weed they sell on the streets to get you high is more potent then what they had in the thirties when they were using it for medication. Is this true? I think weed should be legalized for its industrial use but for recreational usage and medical useage... I don't know Thats why I am asking You.
