Is it just me or does Conner Cruise, the "adopted son" of Tom Cruise look just like him?

For the record I did notice this years ago but I thought that kids just emulate their fathers but now the resemblance is striking. The new pictures of them at the basketball game this week just blew me away. Why would Tom Cruise lie about adopting this boy? Do any of you guys think that he used a surrogate mom to father the child because Nichole could not have children? Yes I am aware that Nichole eventually did go on to have a child but the fact remains that she was thought to be barren for years and that is why they initially adopted.
