How do I change schools??

I have been going to my school from SK to now (grade 6) but I want to go to the school next door to us. My parent's said they'll try as hard as they can to get me in, (because all my friends go there) but how do they change me?? I really want to go for grade 7 =( is there some kind of special board meeting or something?! HELP!!
