Help! biology year 12 sac. diffusion of glucose.?

For my year 12 biology sac. i had to sit a piece of dialysis tubing in a beaker of water. and observe. eventually the glucose and water reached an equilibrium but im not sure how to explain what happened. is this osmosis? or pive diffusion? or am i even more incorrest than i thought!
