Nuts don't contain carbs so for people with type 1 diabetes who carb count can eat them freely without having to take any extra insulin - ie they won't raise your blood sugar. They are also quite high in fat so although they are a source of good fat and a good source of protein too, like everything they should be eaten in moderation, particularly by people with type 2 diabetes who might be trying to lose weight.
